Chicken musings…

I had the most wonderful day today- I had a day off during the week, which always feels luxurious and then it was the perfect weather on top of it all. I had big plans today to start building my chicken coop. Now, I am not a country girl, but I do know how to do a few things industrious from time to time. I have a dear friend, an old neighbor, actually, who is helping me with building the coop.

We tried to get the lumber mostly secondhand so as to save money and be better for the environment. I did have to break down and buy some of my own. It is times like these that make me grateful for my 90’s video game obsession with tetris to make the lumber fit in the back. I spent a lot of the time today taking nails out of the found wood and then putting the wood back together to make our masterpiece…

 I’m sure there’s a metaphor in there somewhere. :)

I’m going to share the next letter. It is still when I am gone for the summer to NC.
