Love, Ted

nina.jpg

I am so grateful to have wise souls in my life who give me advice on how to live life on life’s terms and yet stay optimistic and happy. One of those dear souls gave me the advice to go out to the woods yesterday with my dog and scream. I did 2 out of 3 of those things. I’m more a crier and less a screamer but I took my dog to the Eno River. That is where I feel closest to my Higher Power and where I can feel the feelings.

The next letter of my grandparents includes again about my grandfather swimming in a swimming hole with some campers and it reminds me that getting back to nature is always my solution when life feels heavy and hard.

My grandfather loved his typewriter, which is why many of his letters are typed. But I love that he signs them with his free hand, “Love, Ted.” He did that with cards and letters he sent to me as his grandchild. He would actually type in a greeting card rather than hand write something. Yet he always signed it, “Love, Granddad (Ted).”
