Well this weekend was a typical NC wintry mix of a whole lotta nothing but mud, but luckily I was able to load up my prius with some free lumber to start work on my chicken coop. I have so many ideas of what the hen house will actually look like- it will be interesting to see the final product. It is a great way to meet neighbors though- everyone seems excited about the free eggs.

Unfortunately I got a call today that my Gram fell and hit her head. Luckily she did not need stitches but I guess there was a lot of bleeding. Somehow, she didn’t hurt anything else on her. She was one of the first people on the fosamax study when it came out, and I swear it has kept her bones strong. She refuses to ask for help to get up and down, so consequently, she’ll fall occasionally. We have been very lucky to not have any serious injuries. I am going to check on her tomorrow on my way into clinic.

And yes, I got my bulbs as she instructed for the surprise project. I did not get a chance to get them planted but hopefully will have time during the week. I don’t have much traveling this week so I can do much more puttering around the house. It is befitting that the next set of verbose letters includes talk of selling chickens and eggs. Twenty cents each! My grandfather also speaks of planting butter beans and corn and speaks of his brother Kimrey. They looked so much alike. I know it is hard to read his cursive, but I just love the real thing. He feels closer that way.
